Weather
Standards
1st Grade Science Standard 2: Students will gain an understanding of earth and space science through the study of earth materials, celestial movement, and weather. Objective 3, indicator b, "identify characteristics of weather, e.g., types of precipitation, sunny, windy, foggy, and cloudy."
Educational Technology Standard 6: Use telecommunications efficiently and effectively to access remote information and communicate with others in support of direct and independent learning and for pursuit of personal interests.

Living vs. Non-Living
Let's learn about weather! Click on the link below to read a story about what weather is and different types of weather. When your finished reading the story look outside, what is the weather? Write down what you see in your study journal.

Physical Science
This week in science we will be analyzing various items and describing their physical properties such as size, shape, and color. Below is a preview of the types of things we will be doing and our learning targets. We are smart, we will "soar" in science!
Standards
1st Grade Science Standard 3: Students will gain an understanding of physical science. Objective 2: Analyze objects and record their properties.
Educational Technology Standard 5: Use technology tools for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom.

Living vs. Non-Living
Today in class we learned how to identify what is living and what is non-living. Using the information we discussed in class and the Prezi below, you will label what is living and non-living on your worksheet. Have fun! (Are robins living or non-living?)
Standards
3rd Grade Science Standard 2: Students will understand that organisms depend on living and nonliving things within their environment. Objective 1: Students will "classify living and non-living things in an environment.
Educational Technology Standard 8: Use technology resources for problem-solving, self-directed learning, and extended learning activities.
