Models of Multiplication
We are going to start learning multiplication. Below are links to videos that show the various models we will be learning. Use these as a reference if you get confused doing homework. We are going to 'fly' through multiplication!

Standards
3rd Grade Math Standard 1: Represent and solve problems involving multiplication and division. Objective 1: Students will interpret products of whole numbers.
Educational Technology Standard 8: Use technology resources (e.g., calculators, data collection probes, videos, educational software) for problem-solving, self-directed learning, and extended learning activities.

Area of Irregular Shapes
We have been learning how to find the area of irregular shapes. Let's watch the following videos and see if we can help Belle and Bobby find the area of Belle's garden. Follow along with the worksheet you received in class. Click on each link to watch the 3 videos.

Video 1

Draw the shape that Belle and Bobby are measuring.

Video 2

Add in the measurements of the shape. Before watching the next video write down what Belle and Bobby should do.

Video 3

Did Bobby and Belle do it correctly? If yes, finish the problem and write down the area (make sure to square the answer). If not, show the correct way and write down the answer.

Standards
6th Grade Math Standard 1: Solve real-world and mathematical problems involving area, surface area, and volume. Objective 1: Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes; apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems (emphasis added).
Educational Technology Standard 7: Use telecommunications and on-line resources to participate in collaborative problem-solving activities to develop solutions or products for audiences inside and outside the classroom.
